BAER ART CENTER

After a decade of operating summer residency seasons with four week long residency sessions at BAER ART CENTER, the setup of our program will, from the spring of 2017, shift to shorter residency sessions, thematic workshops and art classes.

The short summer sessions and workshops will be hosted by invitation only in the summer of 2017.

Open Houses/Studio Exhibitions for the 2016 summer residency season will be as follows:

For the June group - Wednesday June 29
For the July group - Wednesday August 03

A group of Danish and Icelandic designers spent a few days at Baer in beautiful fall weather at the beginning of October. The designers' team was brought together by EPAL, www.epal.is, to work on an exclusive 40th anniversary project for the design store.

The residency sessions for the 2016 summer season will be as follows:

June session - June 06 to July 01
July session - July 11 to August 05

The first workshop for photographers at Baer took place in early May.
A group of Icelandic women photographers spent a week at the residency and studied new methods of photography under the instruction of American photographer Elizabeth Opalenik.

Our studio exhibitions of 2015 will be as follows:

For the June group - Wednesday July 01
For the July group - Wednesday August 05

The residency sessions for the 2015 summer season will be as follows:

June session - June 08 to July 03
July session - July 13 to August 07

BAER ART CENTER will be presented as one of the international artists residencies
at The Trans Cultural Exchange Conference in Boston on October 10-14, 2013.
This will be the second time that Baer gets a chance to introduce its program.

No formal residency sessions will be offered at Baer in the summer of 2014.
Next application period will be in the winter of 2014-15 with a an application
deadline on February 1st, 2015, for the 2015 season.

For the June group - Wednesday June 26
For the July group - Wednesday July 31

The residency sessions for the 2013 summer season will be as follows:

June session - June 03 to June 28
July session - July 08 to August 02

The residency sessions for the 2012 summer season will be as follows:

June session - June 04 to June 29
July session -  July 09 to August 03

The residency sessions for the 2011 summer season will be as follows:

June session - June 06 to July 01
July session -  July 04 to July 29

In the summer of 2010 Baer Art Center will not offer formal residency sessions as usual, but instead will operate an alternative art and cultural program.

The 2009 residency season was a great success, thanks to our wonderful and talented artist residents from the US, Germany, Scandinavia and Japan.
The two open houses of the summer, on July 1st and July 29th, saw a record number of visitors who all enjoyed great studio exhibitions.
